Stunning Renovation After Sprinkler Head Explodes

Kitchen-Renovation-Water Damage-Remediation-Rebuild

The Problem

When a coastal condominium suffered sudden, extensive water damage, a local property management company turned immediately to ServiceMaster by Glenn’s. A corroded sprinkler head had burst behind the ceiling drywall, sending water pouring through the hallway, guest bedroom, and kitchen—and our team was called in on an urgent basis to contain and restore the damage.

Job Solution

Our technicians immediately went to work to determine the full extent of the damage. Once hygrometer readings and infrared scanning confirmed the affected areas, they began the mitigation process. Professional drying equipment—including air movers, dehumidifiers, and air scrubbers—was strategically placed throughout the home to control moisture levels and decontaminate the air.

Containment barriers were installed in key doorways to prevent mold spores from spreading while demolition was underway. Comprehensive mold testing and laboratory analysis were then performed to confirm the area was safe and secure before moving into the next phase of restoration.

The Result

ServiceMaster by Glenn’s owner, Keith Grella, partnered closely with the homeowner, bringing creative design ideas that helped transform the condo. By removing the walls between the kitchen and living room, the space was opened up to invite more natural light and create a brighter, more functional, modern layout.
