Large-Scale Flood Recovery Following Hurricane Milton

In October 2024, Hurricane Milton brought destructive winds, heavy rainfall, storm surge, and widespread flooding to Florida’s Gulf Coast. In Largo, Florida, a residential community sustained extensive flood damage, impacting 152 units and requiring an immediate, large-scale response.

Within just 48 hours, ServiceMaster By Glenn’s mobilized 80 crew members and seven tractor-trailers of equipment and supplies to begin emergency stabilization and flood damage remediation.

ServiceMaster By Glenn’s immediately implemented a comprehensive stabilization and remediation plan. Our work included:

• Emergency stabilization of affected units
• Water extraction and moisture control
• Installation and monitoring of commercial drying equipment
• Removal of water-damaged and unsalvageable materials
• Extensive demolition throughout affected areas
• Gutting of the ground-floor units
• Moisture monitoring throughout the drying process
• Cleaning and treatment of affected areas
• Measures to help prevent secondary damage and microbial growth
• Preparation of the units for the reconstruction phase

With multiple crews working throughout the property, our team coordinated manpower, equipment, supplies, demolition, and drying operations on an accelerated schedule.

Despite the scale of the loss, ServiceMaster By Glenn’s completed the flood damage remediation of all 152 affected units in just three weeks, leaving the property stabilized, dried, remediated, and prepared for reconstruction.
