Learn how ServiceMaster by Glenn's worked promptly to restore a condo building damaged by a fire and subsequent water damage.
ServiceMaster by Glenn's promptly responded to an urgent call regarding a fire incident on the penthouse floor at the Portofino condominium complex in WPB, FL. Our expert crews initiated the assessment, documentation, and water extraction process within 45 minutes of notification. The fire, stemming from a combustion incident in a penthouse unit undergoing renovation, required extensive attention due to its impact on multiple floors, units, and common areas within the complex.
The severity of the situation was compounded by the substantial use of water by the fire department to contain the blaze, resulting in widespread water and smoke damage throughout the building. Our immediate focus was on efficient water extraction to prevent further spread and damage. Additionally, we prioritized the removal of wet carpeting and padding near the source area to mitigate potential contamination in other parts of the condominium.
Our comprehensive restoration efforts included deploying air movers and dehumidifiers to facilitate drying, installing air scrubbers to purify smoke-affected air, conducting hot fogging treatments, removing damaged acoustical tiles and insulation, chemically sponging and disinfecting walls to eliminate soot residue, and establishing power supply solutions to support our equipment operation.
Ensuring the safety and well-being of unit owners remained our top priority throughout the restoration process. By executing meticulous coordination with the property manager and providing detailed documentation to insurance carriers, we facilitated a smooth progression toward a fair settlement.
The success of this project can be attributed to the expertise and dedication of the ServiceMaster team, who navigated each stage of mitigation with precision and maintained open communication with all stakeholders involved.
